Please make sure there is gas in your car:

We will have to test drive your car to check on the issues you are bringing your car in for and we also test it again, after it is repaired. It is inconvenient if we have to fill your car with gas to be able to do our job, and yes, we will probably charge you for it. Help us to worker faster and more efficiently by having some gas in your tank. Your auto mechanic will thank you for it.

Don’t fix things yourself…:

…unless you are sure how to. We understand, car repair is expensive, but the internet is no substitute to having your car properly maintained and repaired. While we definitely encourage our customers to do minor repair work, such as replacing batteries or air filters themselves, leave the big problems to us. Just because your neighbor was able to fix his car with a paperclip and a roll of duct tape doesn’t mean that you should too. If anything, it will end up costing you more down the road, because your auto repair technician will have to undo the mistake and then go ahead and fix what was originally wrong with it.

Time is valuable:

Yours and mine as well. So if you did something stupid to your car, trying to fix it, tell me. It might be embarrassing, but it will speed things up tremendously and be cheaper for you as well. Trust me, we have heard it all. And it will make a fun story for you to tell down the road.

Yes, shop ABC down the road may be able to do it for less, but do they work with certified technicians and the right tools. We want to do our job right, and sometimes that costs a bit more.
